Wake up.  Go to Pinterest for inspiration…browse, browse, browse.  Lucky day…found an intriguing image.  Research that for a while.  Thinking about seeing Gustav Klimt’s work at the Neue Galerie in NYC in May.  Looking forward to it. Can’t wait!

Planning a new series of sculptures, so I hit my books on Sonia Delaunay and Cecil Howard.  I’m so happy to be researching one of my favorite eras, Art Deco.

I’m also anticipating all the great Art Deco books I’ll find at the Metropolitan Museum on my NYC trip.

Today, I will assemble a piece for the Michigan International.  It’s a sculpture of a little Japanese girl in a red kimono.  Her glass head was finished a month ago. The body will be ready today.

I use epoxy to put the glass head, hands and feet in place. This is an arduous task and will take two full days.  But then again, there is nothing like finishing a piece. What a great feeling of accomplishment to finally look at and admire it.

Last week, I finished another sculpture called “Shogun”.  It took three full days to epoxy the pieces together. But at the end, I was so happy with the results that I literally danced around the piece for much longer than I care to admit.

What is it all about?  It’s about happiness.  For me, doing artist’s work brings inner happiness.
