I am most inspired when I’m working directly with the material, so when I have an idea, my “sketching” process often looks more like a combination of hands-on experiments and seeing what comes from playing with the material. I am continually fascinated by endless optical properties between glass and light, not to mention the many varieties of working with glass which really keeps my studio practice exciting. A day in the studio with me consists of working on multiple projects throughout the day. I am juggling between making blown and sculpted work in the hot shop, grinding and polishing glass pieces for upcoming work, meticulously gluing and assembling finished works and packing and shipping completed projects. No two days are ever the same and that’s something I really enjoy about what I do.
